Akeso has a nationwide network of psychiatric hospitals. At our hospitals, we offer specialised inpatient treatment of adults and adolescents for a range of psychiatric, psychological and addictive conditions. Outpatient services are available at almost all our hospitals; we also offer post-discharge support groups and a 24/7 emergency help line.
Akeso was established in 2007, and became part of the Netcare Group in 2018.
Our expert multi-disciplinary teams comprised of psychiatrists, medical doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and psychiatric qualified Professional Nurses work together to provide safe and comfortable inpatient environments, providing care to patients at our dedicated facilities located in Gauteng, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.

Akeso psychiatric hospitals are licensed by the Department of Health and the Department of Social Development. We are also registered with the Board of Healthcare Funders, and the Hospital Association of South Africa.
